Voice chat

The server runs the Plasmo Voice voice chat: you hear nearby players in 3D, and voices fade with distance.

You can play without the mod, but voice chat won’t be available. keelfy’s modpack already includes Plasmo Voice and all client-side add-ons.

Installation

Install the Fabric mod loader (or NeoForge);
Download Plasmo Voice for your game version;
Put the mod into the mods folder in your game directory;
Join the server and press V: check that the right microphone and headphones are selected.

Controls

Key	Description
`V`	Voice chat menu: devices, volume, activations, hotkeys
`Left Alt`	Talk while the key is held (Push to Talk mode)
`M`	Mute/unmute the microphone. In the modpack `M` also opens the map — rebind one of them in the Hotkeys tab of the `V` menu.
RMB + mouse wheel	Hold RMB while looking at a player and scroll to change their volume for you only

In the Activation tab of the V menu you pick a mode for each way of talking: Push to Talk (talk on a key) or Voice Activation (the microphone turns on when you speak). Your normal voice distance is set there too.

Commands

Add-ons

Add-ons add new ways to talk. Most of them show up as separate activations in the Activation tab of the V menu — give them a key or a mode, like your normal voice.

Groups

pv-addon-groups — voice channels for your friends: group members hear each other at any distance.

Set up the Groups activation in the V menu;
Create a group: /groups create;
Invite friends: /groups invite {player};
Talk using the group activation.

You can set a name and a password when creating it, for example: /groups create name: Miners password: qwerty. Both are optional and their order doesn’t matter. A group is deleted automatically when it’s empty and when the server restarts.

`/groups ban {player}`	Ban a player from the group. `/groups unban {player}` lifts the ban
`/groups delete`	Delete the group

Whisper

pv-addon-whisper — the Whisper activation: you’re heard at a shorter distance than usual (half by default). Handy when you don’t want to bother your neighbours.

Priority

pv-addon-priority — the Priority activation: a loud voice that carries farther than usual.

Broadcast

pv-addon-broadcast — the Broadcast activation: every player in the chosen area hears you. Used for events and announcements.

Set the area with /vbc:

/vbc range {radius} — players within a radius;
/vbc world {world} — the whole world;
/vbc server — the whole server;
/vbcp proxy — every server in the network.

Spectators

pv-addon-spectator — everyone can hear players in spectator mode.

Sculk

pv-addon-sculk — sculk sensors and wardens react to your voice. Talking loudly next to a sensor emits a redstone signal, and in an Ancient City it can attract the warden. Speak quietly or use groups.

Music discs

pv-addon-discs — custom music discs: burn a link to a track onto a disc and play it in a jukebox, so everyone nearby hears it through voice chat. The audio is streamed from the internet.

The server only plays tracks uploaded to Dropbox .

Upload the track to Dropbox and copy the file’s public link;
At the end of the link, replace dl=0 with dl=1;
Hold a music disc in your hand;
Burn the track onto it: /disc burn {url} [name];
Put the disc into a jukebox.

`/disc burn {url} [name]`	Burn a Dropbox track onto the disc in your hand, optionally with a custom name
`/disc erase`	Turn a custom disc back into a regular one
`/disc cancel [player]`	Stop a goat horn sound that is playing

Sound physics

A client-side add-on: it goes into the mods folder and only works for you. The modpack already has it.

pv-addon-soundphysics — voices follow Sound Physics Remastered : echo in caves, muffling behind walls.

Common problems

Nobody hears me — check in the V menu that the right microphone is selected and it isn’t muted with M. In Voice Activation mode, adjust the sensitivity threshold;
Voice chat disconnected — type /vrc;
A player is too loud — hold RMB while looking at them and lower their volume with the mouse wheel;
A player breaks the rules in voice chat — report them with /report.
